Loo-nacy. A poem by Geraldine McCarthy

For quilted double velvet
I’d sell my very soul.
I dream of it, covet it,
While locked in at home.
So I spray all door handles
And wipe down my phone,
Read the latest press release,
Isolated, but not alone.
The fridge is packed,
The cupboards too,
Nothing to do but eat,
And Netflix series view.
It’s standard two-ply now,
And glad to have it I am,
But quilted double velvet,
Is really yer only man.
